- Syncing to OneDrive will backup your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders. It creates an exact mirror of these folders and puts them in the M365 cloud for expanded access, extra collaboration features, and added security features. OneDrive is for your personal files and cannot be accessed by others users without giving specific permissions.
- Go to bottom-left search bar and type in “OneDrive” and click on the OneDrive application.
- This will then open up the OneDrive sign-in screen. Enter your Microsoft 365 log-in information (same login as your Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) and click “Sign-In”.
- You can then walk through the prompts, clicking “Next” when prompted.
- When prompted to back up folders on this PC, be sure to check Documents, Pictures, and Desktop.
- The next page will explain what each symbol means after syncing is completed.
- When prompted to install the mobile app, click “Later”.
- You can then click the “X” in the top right of the box, or open your OneDrive Folder. Your OneDrive folder will backup and mirror your computer’s Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folder. These folders are still only available to you, unless you choose to share them. Training on this will come, but you can continue to use your files as normal.
